Supers' decision strains town relations

The relationship between the Isle of Wight Board of Supervisors and Smithfield Town Council’s is strained once again after the Board reneged on a deal to give the town two county properties.

The Board failed to tell the Town Council it planned to rescind a boundary line adjustment that would have given properties on Great Spring and Battery Park roads to the tow

This newest disconnect comes after the two bodies patched up communications in May with a successful arrangement to keep the Isle of Wight County Museum open.
