Attention amateur photographers!

 

Take a shot of Windsor Castle Park — or a happening there — and enter The Smithfield Times Windsor Castle Park photo of the week contest.

Weekly winners will be printed in The Smithfield Times and entered into a year-end prize drawing in December. Photos are judged by The Smithfield Times news staff and local professional photographers. Judging criteria is based on exposure, lighting, composition and subject. One submission per person per week and photos must have been taken within the past year. Local police not mining phone data

Some Hampton Roads law enforcement agencies are swapping cell phone data collected during investigations to help each other catch criminals.

The Smithfield Police Department and Isle of Wight Sheriff’s Office are not among them.

In 2012, Chesapeake, Norfolk, Suffolk, Hampton and Newport News law enforcement agencies began contributing records to Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Task Force, which runs the a network called Hampton Roads Telephone Analysis Sharing Network (HRTASN).
