Attention amateur photographers!

 

Take a shot of Windsor Castle Park — or a happening there — and enter The Smithfield Times Windsor Castle Park photo of the week contest.

Weekly winners will be printed in The Smithfield Times and entered into a year-end prize drawing in December. Photos are judged by The Smithfield Times news staff and local professional photographers. Judging criteria is based on exposure, lighting, composition and subject. One submission per person per week and photos must have been taken within the past year. Town rules block home day care business due to size

Sheran Oliver wants to resume business as usual at her home day care operation in Smithfield before she has to shut down. But first, the town rules will have to change.

Earlier this year, Sheran and husband James, owners of Sheran’s Home Day Care, learned their business practices violated town code. The town currently prohibits home day care centers, which care for six to 12 children under the age of 13 in a residence.
