Son's care led to loss of county job

Danielle Gray never thought that when she took time off to help her son battle a deadly form of cancer that she would end up losing her job.

Gray had worked for 15 years in the Isle of Wight County commissioner of revenue’s office, rising to the level of chief deputy and earning “master commissioner” status.

Prior to that, she served for six-and-a-half years with the school system.

460 indecision has Windsor on hold

WINDSOR — Windsor Town Council members are wondering if they should wait on certain decisions until the state renders a final verdict on the path of Route 460.

Councilwoman Patty Fleming asked if the council should wait on plans for a new flag and pole until a decision is made on Route 460.
