Being able to throw all recyclables in one container has increased the practice by 26 percent at the Jones Creek convenience center.
The Jones Creek center in Carrollton generates about 40 percent of the county’s trash, according to a staff report.
Jones Creek was chosen as the pilot site for the program, which has since expanded to all of the Isle of Wight convenience centers, said General Services Director Edwin Wrightson.
