Government bodies and retailers across the nation have stopped flying or selling the Confederate battle flag after the hate-filled shooting of nine black churchgoers in South Carolina.

Shooting suspect 21-year-old Dylann Roof had written a manifesto prior to the June 17 attack and posed for pictures with that version of the Confederate flag.
