Mary Anna Crocker Overton

Mary Anna Crocker Overton, 95, of Chesterfield, passed away on Monday, Oct. 19, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Laura May Crocker; sister, Ethel Walden; and nieces, Joyce O’Neill Swain and Vivian Walden. 

She was longtime owner/operator of Harrowgate Grocery and Apartments. She also served many years of civil service for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. 

She is survived by her beloved dogs, Ralph, Woody and Kita; niece, Helen Walden; great-nieces, Laurie O’Neill, Stephanie Bowen, Shelley Logan, Sharon Rosengreen, Avery Coffman and Layne Coffman; great-nephews, Lin O’Neill (Debbie), Steven Dean and Shawen Dean; numerous great-great-nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends on Thursday, Oct. 22, 5-7 p.m. at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. 

A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
