David Arthur Lyle, born Oct. 4, 1959 in Washington, Penn., went home to be in God’s choir on Dec. 4, 2015 after a long, courageous battle with cancer and surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his devoted, loving wife, Jackie Lyle; son, Justin Lyle; daughter, Josalyn Lyle-Filer; and grandson, David Lee Filer; his parents, Eugene and Elsie Lyle and brothers, Eugene and Donald Lyle. He was preceded in death by daughter, Sarah Elizabeth; son, David Franklin; and sister, Lila Sue.
Dave was a 1977 graduate of Trinity High School in Washington and was a 25-year veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was well-known for his ability and commitment to love his neighbor as himself.
Special thanks from the family to Eugene and Emmie Lyle, Kaitlyn Newcomb, Matthew Filer and Darlene Pacelli-Moore for loving and supporting the family through this difficult time. The family is thankful for all the cards, meals, visits and prayers from all its family and friends.
Dave asks everyone to follow the two commandments: to love God and to love thy neighbor as thyself, then you will automatically be following all of God’s commandments.
A celebration of life memorial sing will be held Saturday, Jan. 23, 6 p.m. at Uzzell United Methodist Church, 15363 Uzzell Church Road in Smithfield.
