Editor, Smithfield Times

I am writing in response to your editorial last week where you thanked all the people that wrote letters to your paper during the year.

As one of those writers let me thank you and The Smithfield Times for providing that opportunity to be heard.

It is motivating and empowering as a writer to know that if civilly written, your ideas can be part of the community’s discussion.

Also, as a community we all benefit from the many different ideas and perspectives that we find in reading the letters that others submit to your paper.

So thanks to the Smithfield Times and keep up the good work!
