Hilda Scott Musick-Sikes, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016. She was born on Oct. 21, 1924 and was the daughter of the late Gurley Matthew and Edith Estelle Everett Scott.

She was one of the founders of the “New Beginnings Class” at Smithfield Baptist Church, where she was a member, and one of the founders of the Christian Outreach Program. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by both of her husbands, Harold Lloyd Musick and Grover Sikes; son, Donald Wayne Musick; brothers, Richard Matthew Scott, Everette Mabry Scott, Willis Taylor Scott and a sister, Katherine Estelle Scott Eason.

Family members she leaves to cherish her memories include: brother Durwood Vaughan Scott, son, Glen Musick and wife Judi of Smithfield; daughter-in-law, Shelia Musick of Carrollton; grandchildren, Kimberly Kaye Blaylock, Kelly Glenn Musick (Dana), Maria Hope Seidnitzer (Kevin) and Donald Wayne Musick Jr., (Brandy) and seven great-grandchildren.

A life celebration service will be held Friday, Jan. 22, 11 a.m. in Smithfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Jarvis Hearn officiating. A reception along with greeting of family and friends will follow in the Family Life Center. Burial will be private.
