On Tuesday, Jan. 26 my daughter, Donna K. Mason, was involved in a pedestrian accident on Fort Huger Road. I want to express my thanks, gratitude and appreciation to each and every one who came to her rescue with kind words, concerns and support in my absence. Your presence made her strong to see so many caring people.

I cannot name everyone who was so attentive to her, but I must express my thanks and gratitude to the Rushmere Volunteer Fire Department, the Isle of Wight County Rescue Squad, LPN Tiffany W. Robertson, Ray and Hilda Wilson, the Isle of Wight County deputy Sheriffs, and the Dominion Virginia Power employees. A special thank you to State Trooper R. G. Harvey of Courtland. My daughter told me that he exemplified professional courtesy and kindness.
