Charles Lynn Addison Sr.

Charles Lynn Addison Sr., affectionately known as “Tex,” passed away in his home in Smithfield on Monday, March 14, 2016. Charles was born in Florene, La., on Oct. 19, 1939, to the late Julian and Odie Mae Addison, and was one of four children. He served in the United States Navy, then later moved to Virginia, and was a dedicated employee of Newport News Shipbuilding for 40 years.
He is preceded in death by his mother, father, and little sister, Betty Hollomon. He is survived by his wife Judy of 53 years; brother, James Addison of Hazel Green, Ala.; sister Frances Addison of Sammamish, Wash.; son Charles “Chuck” Jr. of Carrolton; grandson, Cory Little of Courtland; granddaughters, Jalee Wermer of Suffolk and Gerri Addison of Fairbanks, Alaska.; and a great-granddaughter, Addison Louise Wermer, for whom she was named.
Charles had a passion for his family, a love for baking and eating, and an incredible work ethic in all he did. Positive thoughts and prayers are appreciated by his family during this time.
