SURRY — Thomas Elbert Younglove, 18, of Surry departed this life far too soon on Aug. 31, 2016. Thomas graduated from Surry High School and was a member of the Surry Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed working on his trucks, fishing, boating or just hanging out with his friends around the fire. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Elbert “Buck” and Virginia Younglove and his maternal grandfather, Thomas F. Dodds.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Melvin E. and Patty D. Younglove; maternal grandmother, Lorraine Dodds; aunt, Terri L. Wade (Ronald); uncles, Paul J. Dodds and Woody W. Dodds (Judy); numerous cousins and a multitude of friends, peers and adults alike.
The family will receive friends Friday, Sept. 2, at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home, Wakefield Chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 3, at the funeral home with the Rev. Ray Rowland officiating. The family requests that you attend the funeral in casual attire. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Surry Volunteer Fire Department P.O. Box 260 Surry, VA 23883.
