Smithfield High School student arrested

A Smithfield High School student was arrested Tuesday for making a threat via Snapchat against the school.
Paul M. Emerson, 18, was charged with two counts of communicating a threat via electronic means. He is being held without bond at Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
Isle of Wight investigators also removed an AR-15 rifle from the home in the 15000 block of Carrollton Boulevard, according to the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office.
The threat had included a weapon, according to Lt. Tommy Potter with the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office.
Also charged in connection with the threat is Melissa M. Jacuzzi, 51, of the 15000 block of Carrollton Boulevard. She was charged with obstruction of justice and released on bond.
