Rachael S. Campbell, 91, of Carrollton, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018.   

Born Sept. 9, 1927 in Amherst, she was the daughter, of the late Chesley W. and Annie P. Shelton.  She and her loving husband of 63 years, Aubrey R. Campbell, owned and operated Mobile Steam Cleaning for 30 plus years.  She devoted her life to her family, and most importantly, to Christ. She was a long-time member of Liberty Baptist Church in Hampton.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey R. Campbell; daughter, Pamela C. Pierce; brothers, Otey Shelton, Jesse Shelton and Garry “Billy” Shelton; sisters, Melva Schaar, and Mary Shelton.

Survivors include her son, Jeffrey S. Campbell, of Enfield, N,C,; brother, Ernest “Bud” Shelton, of North Garden; sister, Eva Thacker of Amherst; granddaughters, Leslie McAllister (Philip), Lindsay Wilson (Maurice), Ashley Thorsen (Harper), Megan Gotliffe (Blake), Taylor Campbell; and nine great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be at 1:00 PM at Liberty Baptist Church on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 1 p.m. with Pastor Joe Hunt officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Baptist Church Building Fund, 1021 Big Bethel Road, Hampton, VA 23666.
