Curtis Michael Ray

Curtis Michael Ray, 35, of Denver, Colo., passed away Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021.
He was a graduate of Smithfield High School in 2004. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in November 2002. Curtis’s awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (posthumously), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, and Army Achievement Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters. He was also an employee at Comcast for eight years in various roles.
Curtis is survived by his wife, Flor Deniz Ray. Together they raised five children, Alejandro, Alan, Jullien, Camilla and Sebastian. Curtis is missed by his mother, Monica Raines (Joe); father, Curtis Chapman (Lynn); siblings, Toni (Eric), Curtis Jr., Derrick and Tiffany; and a special niece, Taylor (Darrin). Curtis left a legacy through his wife, children, family and friends with how he lived and loved. He left a selfless legacy as an organ donor. His donation provided at least six people with hope amid our terrible loss…a gift of a better life.
Funeral services were held at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, Colorado Springs, Colo. He was laid to rest at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, Colorado Springs, Colo.
