Christian Outreach reprises Angel Tree project

The Isle of Wight Christian Outreach Program has reprised its Senior Angel Tree project for the 2021 holiday season.

Participating Smithfield businesses have set up Christmas trees, each decorated with tags listing the needs and wants of a low-income or special-needs Isle of Wight County resident age 65 and up. The idea is for patrons of each business to add someone they don’t know to their holiday gift list by signing out one of the tags and shopping for the requested items.

Wrapped gifts, with the tag attached, are due to be dropped off Dec. 3 at the same business from which the tags were taken, but will be accepted through Dec. 10. Trees are located at:

  • Ringo’s Donuts, 1200 S. Church St.
  • Luter Family YMCA, 259 James St.
  • Q Daddy’s, 1007 S. Church St.
  • Wharf Hill Brewing Company, 25 Main St.
