Isle of Wight County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay Tuesday, Jan. 4.

Surry County Public Schools also announced Monday that it would not be open for in-person instruction and that Tuesday will be a day of virtual instruction. The instruction will be offered synchronously, where the teacher leads class activities using Zoom. If this is not possible, asynchronous activities will be assigned. Students should log in to Canvas for the Zoom link and instructions.

The area received a light dusting of snow Monday afternoon, but due to forecasted below-freezing overnight temperatures, there’s a risk of hazardous road conditions in the morning.
