Gladys Beale Rose, 97, died March 5, 2022 in Obici Hospital.

A native of Holland, VA, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Lee Beale and Mamie Butler Beale.  Also preceding her in death was her husband, John Randolph Rose, Jr., her sister Nellie Godfrey Bateman, and two brothers, James Howard Beale and Marshall Aubrey Beale.

Survivors include a son, Andy Rose and his wife, June; three daughters, Sandra Cofield and husband, Bob, Gwen Rose, and Nancy Marshall and husband, Lee, five grandchildren Paula Rose, Amy Cofield Swindell, Stephanie Noles, Matt Noles, and Michael Marshall and eight great-grandchildren.

Gladys was a member of Windsor Baptist Church where she served as teacher, Girls’Auxillary leader, and church clerk.  She retired as cafeteria manager of Windsor High School.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, talented seamstress and a GREAT cook.

The memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at R. W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, Suffolk, VA with Rev. Robert F. Cofield, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be private at the Windsor Cemetery.
