Leland Farley Beaton, 89, of Smithfield passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2022.  He was the son of the late Samuel Richard Beaton and Lizzie Mae Raiford Beaton.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Betty Page Delk Beaton.  Mr. Beaton is survived by his daughter, Alison B. Chapman (Joey); sons, Mac R. Beaton (Laura) and L. Farley Beaton, Jr (Donna); grandchildren, Courtney Chapman (Bennett), Matthew Chapman (Lauren), Jamie Beaton and Whitney Beaton. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Samuel Edgar Beaton, and a sister Lois Beaton Smith.

Mr. Beaton will always be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose first priority in life was his family.

The family wishes to express sincere thanks and deepest appreciation to the staff of Riverside Healthy Living Community and the Riverside Hospice Team, and most especially to those in The Garden who cared for our father and grandfather with such kindness and compassion.  Words cannot express our gratitude for the love and care they offered daily.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 4, 2022, 1 p.m. at Smithfield Baptist Church with burial to follow in Bethany Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3 to 4 p.m. at Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield.  Online condolences may be registered at www.littlesfuneralhome.com.
