Smithfield Times readers again can pick their favorite places, faces, businesses and services in the second annual Hammy Awards.

Through May 31 at 11:59 p.m., readers are encouraged to nominate their favorites in each category. Nominations can be made up to once per day per category.

Write-in nominations can be made at https://www.smithfieldtimes.com/contests/hammy-awards-2022/.

Once the nomination round is over, the top 3-5 nominees (unless there is a tie) with the most nominations in each category will automatically advance to the voting round and will appear on the 2022 Hammy Awards ballot this summer.

The voting round will begin July 20 and continue through Aug. 15.

Winners will be announced in September.
