Editor, The Smithfield Times:

The people who want to build a house on the lot zoned RAC that prohibits a single-family home should be allowed to build their home there with the prohibition thrown out (“ ‘A problem only lawyers could understand,’ ” May 4). This is absolutely ridiculous.

There must be something that the powers that be can do to make this happen. These are the little things that can make or break how we feel about the county government and how it operates in a way that is good and helpful to the people.

Situations of this sort only serve to hurt the people involved. If they are not solved in a way that is decent and fair to all involved and not taking silly, stupid laws to the nth degree, they only serve to hurt everyone involved.
