Forte Jazz Band will perform Friday, June 24, for the Downtown Smithfield Summer Concert Series.

The concert begins at 7 p.m. on the front lawn of The Smithfield Times, 228 Main St. 

Forte, an eight-piece ensemble from Smithfield, formed in 1995 and has performed extensively over the years, from backyard barbecues to television appearances to performing at the Hampton Jazz Festival.

The concert series, sponsored by the Isle of Wight Arts League, the Town of Smithfield and the newspaper, continues each Friday through Labor Day weekend.
