Tim Seitz of Smithfield recently pitched a perfect game for his private school team, the Central Virginia Disciples Patriots JV,  against Woodberry Forest’s junior varsity team. The Patriots play private schools in the Tidewater and Richmond area. Tim, 14, the son of Tim and Sharon Seitz, struck out 12 in five innings while allowing no hits, walks or baserunners. He is a well rounded athlete, also playing shortstop, third base, first base and centerfield. On the mound, he is known for his “Anderson” curveball. Tim has been taught pitching the last four years by Tidewater resident and former Major League Baseball lefthander Jimmy Anderson, who pitched for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Boston Red Sox and Chicago Cubs. Tim’s travel ball coach since he played in the 12-and-under age group is Jimmy Reynolds of the Peninsula Co Pilots. (Submitted photo)
