Isle of Wight, Surry under severe thunderstorm watch

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Isle of Wight and Surry counties through 8 p.m.
The NWS Wakefield station is reporting a 30% chance of precipitation this afternoon in Isle of Wight and 40% in Surry, with showers and thunderstorms more likely this evening, mainly between 8-11 p.m.
Isle of Wight and Surry are also under a heat advisory, with highs expected to reach 93 to 94 degrees. Heat index values could rise as high as 105.
