Allocate illegal  immigrants

Editor, The Smithfield Times:

While Greg Abbott’s and Ron DeSantis’ recent strategy of busing migrants to Boston, Nantucket and Washington was a political stunt intended to further their presidential ambitions, there may be something to the idea.

Our border states are bearing the burden of the immigration crisis while other states wring their hands and attack the administration for not solving the problem. Perhaps an equitable solution would be to transport migrants in the same proportion as these states are of the overall U.S. population.

California represents 11.9% of the U.S. population, so it would get 11.9% of the immigrants.  New York 5.9%, North Carolina 3.2%, North Dakota .23%.  Maybe instituting this policy would get Congress off their fannies and come up with some realistic approaches to the human tragedy that is occuring on our southern border.
