Weekend rainfall didn’t stop all of the “Christmas in Downtown Smithfield” activities. Carolers of Joy entertaining along Wharf Hill adjacent to Christ Episcopal Church are, from left, Tim Jones, Jason Price, Amber Price, director Joy Vernon and Susan Cooper. Also, Pasture #3, dressed in Colonial attire and directed by Steve Edwards, with Curtis Baccus IV, performed a program of Colonial songs and carols at the 1750 Courthouse and Christ Church on Saturday morning. In the afternoon, the Carolers of Joy joined Pasture in a concert of Christmas carols. The Carolers of Joy returned on Sunday to perform carols up and down Main Street on a chilly afternoon.
