Ingrid P. King, 83, of Smithfield, died on Sunday, January 29 in her home.  

Ingrid was born in Berlin, Germany on December 20, 1939. She emigrated to the United States in 1959. Ingrid met her future husband, Lloyd N. King, Jr., in New York City in February 1963 and married him that year in December. In 1971, she moved with her family to Virginia and settled in Rescue. Ingrid became a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Smithfield in 1972, where she participated for many years in the adult choir, singing both alto and tenor. Ingrid was an avid reader and crossword enthusiast.

Ingrid was preceded in death by her husband and is survived by her sons, Nate King and David King, her daughter, Suzanna Cash, and her three granddaughters, Samantha King-Cash, Morgan Cash, and Kristian Cash. 

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 12, 2023, 3:00pm at Trinity United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Isle of Wight Christian Outreach Program P.O.Box 253 Smithfield, VA 23430.
