Suffolk man dead, two juveniles injured in Windsor crash

A Suffolk man died Monday evening, March 20, in a two-vehicle crash in Windsor that also injured two juveniles.

The crash occurred about 8:20 p.m. at Windsor Boulevard and Lovers Lane. According to Sgt. Michelle Anaya, spokeswoman for the Virginia State Police, 76-year-old Lorinza Thomas Boone was driving south in a 2007 Dodge Caravan on Lovers Lane and failed to stop at the stop sign before turning left onto Windsor Boulevard, and into the path of a Westbound 2011 Ford Eagle.

Boone suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Sentara Obici Hospital, where he later died.

The occupants of the Ford Eagle, a 16-year-old female driver and an 8-year-old front-seat passenger, both suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported by ambulance from the scene.

Boone was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
