Charles James “Jim” Likens, 71, of Smithfield, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. 

He was the son of the late Hartsel William Likens and Mary Frances Barb Likens. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Amanda “Mandy” Cook Likens; daughter, Terri Blashaw (Bill); son, Charles James Likens, Jr.; step daughter, Donna Crick; step son, Billy Nelms (Lori); 15 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren; sister, Beverly Bennett (Stacy); and a brother, Hartsel William Likens, Jr. (Sue). He was also preceded in death by a step son, Tommy Nelms. 

Jim was born and raised in West Virginia, following high school he served in the US Army. He retired from Howmet Corporation in Hampton, VA. In his retirement he loved to go to Estate Auctions.  He was a wonderful husband who loved his family. 

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield, with burial to follow in St. Luke’s Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
