Editor, The Smithfield Times:

Election time is coming. The season brings confusion, chaos and sometimes complete foolishness. 

I encourage citizens to be informed and vote for truth and transparency. Vote for someone who wants what’s best for this county. Vote for someone who has been involved in the community longer than just right before elections.

Pastor William McCarty has always shown me that he values the truth, practices transparency and is active in this community. Most importantly, he proves over and over again that he is up to the challenge of his role as a shepherd in our church and supervisor in this community. 

Even though people can be crazy, he still shows care and offers guidance in every hat he wears, whether it be inside the church walls or inside the court house walls. 

Pastor Mac, keep being a good man and great leader in this community. I look forward to seeing you reelected on Nov. 7.
