14-year-old injured in hit and run early Saturday

Virginia State Police are seeking assistance from the public in identifying a hit and run suspect.
VSP responded to the hit-and-run crash involving a 14-year old pedestrian male at 12:25 a.m. Saturday, Nov 4, according to a news release. The crash occurred at 17032 Benn’s Church Boulevard in Smithfield.
The preliminary investigations reveal that a 14-year old male was walking a motorbike on Benn’s Church Road, when he was struck by an unknown vehicle which fled the scene, the release stated. He was taken to Riverside Regional Hospital with life threatening injuries.
The crash remains still under investigation.
