Alisa Reed-Lofton, MA, was or guest speaker at a recent Smithfield Kiwanis meeting. She is a senior program manager for the Alzheimer’s Association, Southwest Virginia Chapter. She provided an excellent overview of their programs as well as current information on Alzheimer’s and some of the treatment options.  Club members thoroughly enjoyed her presentation and learned a great deal.  Anyone interested in joining Kiwanis is invited to any of the group;s 12:30 p.m. Thursday meetings at Smithfield Station to enjoy fellowship and lunch and consider becoming part of an organization dedicated to serving the youth in the community. The club generally has guest speakers the second and third Thursdays of each month.
