Hurrah Players come to Smithfield

After two straight weather-related cancellations, the Hurrah Players, a Norfolk-based theatre company, took to the Main Street Square stage on July 19 to perform a selection of Broadway and country tunes for the downtown Smithfield summer concert series.
- Eliana Jacobs of Smithfield performs “Part of Your World” from Disney’s “The Little Mermaid.”
- June Keebler and Virginia Mollura await the start of the concert.
- DaVine Chavez, dressed as the genie from Aladdin, performs “A Friend Like Me” from the Disney musical.
- Josh, Amanda, Monroe and Mollylee Trossen gather on the Smithfield Times lawn for the concert.
- Ava Saunders performs Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York.”
- Elle Campbell performs “Rise and Shine.”
- Twins Ruby and Stella Caramore, age 7, perform “Seize the Day” from the Broadway musical “Newsies.”
- Bella McKenzie performs “Blue,” a country song by Bill Mack.
- Rainey Trevino performs “Tomorrow” from “Annie.”
- Amanda Bauer performs “She’s Got You” by Patsy Cline.
- Jalen Whittemore, Stephanie Higgins, Shaniya Reddy and Bella McKenzie, in back, give a preview of “Little Shop of Horrors,” which the Hurrah Players will perform July 26-28 at Virginia Wesleyan University.
- Micah Lister and Aurora Powell perform “Suddenly Seymour,” a duet from Little Shop of Horrors.
- Stormie Trevino performs “Castle on a Cloud” from the musical “Les Miserables.”
