Editor, The Smithfield Times:
U.S. Rep. Jen Kiggans is running for re-election in the 2nd Congressional District of Virginia. Recent news reports have suggested that in some circles there are the beliefs that civilian medals related to campaign donations are more significant than medals of valor for heroic military action.
Yes, as unimaginable as that sounds, specifically it was stated that Medal of Honor recipients do not measure up to someone who gives large amounts of money to a political campaign! So far, Congresswoman Kiggans’ silence on this outrage is deafening.
Missy Cotter Smasal is a veteran who believes that the selflessness and courage exhibited by our veterans in defending freedom throughout the world has earned them respect and support, while donating money to candidates is not even remotely comparable!
Missy is not afraid to speak out and legislate on behalf of our veterans in Virginia’s District 2.
Let us give her the chance to do that. Elect Missy for Congress!
