Editor, The Smithfield Times:

I am sorry to see that The Smithfield Times is no longer publishing letters to the editor that deal with national politics. I enjoyed it, and I feel the dialog was helpful. 

I do understand why the Times doesn’t want to deal with fact-checking, but I always tried to be as accurate as possible, and what I saw of opposing views, all the writers were truthful and accurate as well. I learned from them at least some understanding. 

It is what it is, maybe I can now turn to the Sussex paper, since the Daily Press no longer publishes me. Maybe it’s my views, maybe it’s my address, whatever. Who cares, right? I care! Otherwise I would just sit back, laugh and enjoy the circus that is American politics. Besides, I live in Surry County, so there is plenty to write about our aloof Board of Supervisors.
