Editor, The Smithfield Times:

We urge the Smithfield Town Council to “please vote” to keep The Smithfield Times as it is and sell the building to Mr. Steve Stewart, the editor and publisher.

We believe, with all the changes in our community, that The Smithfield Times is a staple and an anchor in Smithfield. We would compare its importance there to the Smithfield Post Office, their next-door neighbor. It really adds to  our Historic District, especially since it occupies the site that has been there for a century.

Our sincere hope is that our elected Town Council Members would agree, and would keep this wonderful part of Smithfield’s history!
