Editor, The Smithfield Times:

Consider this a public service announcement. If you suffer a disservice by a state, federal or local governmental agency within Jen Kiggans’ Virginia District 2, reach out to her. She can and will help.

I am retired from your United States Air Force. Fourteen months ago, I received medical treatment that was pre-approved by Humana Military. I paid $1,500 out of pocket for the procedure. Over the phone I took insurance claim filing instructions from Humana Military. That claim was denied. Four subsequent claims were also submitted and denied, each of which adhered to a differing set of Humana Military claim filing instructions.

On the verge of giving up, I threw a lure out to Representative Kiggans’ office (via telephone call) and asked if my congresswoman would be willing to intervene. Less than 24 hours after that phone call, Kiggans’ office informed me that a “Congressional Inquiry” had been filed with Humana Military on my behalf. Ten days later, I possessed both an insurance settlement check and a written apology from Humana Military.

This is but one example of the way Jen Kiggans has (and will continue to) fight for her constituents.
