Isle of Wight County Parks and Recreation hosted its second annual therapeutic recreation ball for Hampton Roads adults with disabilities on Feb. 28 at New Branch Farms, a wedding venue in Rushmere. Pictured at left is Austin Meissel and at right is Micah Jenkins of Hands & Hearts, a Smithfield-based program founded by Kristin Wilda that provides employment and creative opportunities for adults with disabilities, such as working at the Something Special thrift store Wilda started in 2022 to benefit Hands & Hearts.
