Editor, The Smithfield Times:

I took a hard fall coming out of Wendy’s in Smithfield around noon on Wednesday, Feb. 19. I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to the lady and man who showed me kindness and assisted me during my fall in the parking lot. 

Your quick response and support meant more to me than words can say. I truly appreciate you taking the time to help me up and make sure I was OK. An extra special thank you for taking my glasses to my wife, who was sitting in the car. I am recovering well from two black eyes and a deep wound in my forehead.

It’s rare to encounter such genuine care and concern, and I am so grateful for your compassion during that moment. Thank you for being there when I needed help most. It was an act of kindness I will never forget.

I hope that I can pass on the goodwill you’ve shown to me, and I wish you all the best.
