Editor, The Smithfield Times:

The Isle of Wight County Historical Society posted a Facebook tribute to Lawrence Pitt for his remarkable, beautiful achievement in designing and managing the construction of our beloved Windsor Castle Park, the funds for which were generously provided by Joseph Luter III. 

For reasons that escape me, there has been shamefully little public appreciation for Lawrence’s contributions to Smithfield and the county, for this and other things too numerous to list here.

The Smithfield Town Council should remedy this oversight soon, before it’s too late — tempus fugit.
