Isle of Wight County Schools kicked off the “month of the military child,” which recognizes students whose parents serve in the Armed Forces, with an April 11 concert at Hardy Elementary featuring the Navy Fleet Forces Band’s popular music group. Parents and guardians in the military joined their children for the occasion. Assistant Principal Matthew Summit, himself a Navy veteran and musician, also joined the band on stage.
