For many years Norma was a loan officer for local finance companies in addition to being a stay-at-home mom and a meticulous housekeeper.  She and her late husband, Cecil, will be remembered as the ‘best dancers in Isle of Wight County”.  She was quirky, with a great sense of humor.

She supported the VFW and was a member of the Woman’s Auxiliary.  In her last days, Norma looked forward to visits from friends and family, especially her children, siblings — cracking jokes and funning with whoever was around.

A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, July 9, 11 a.m., in St. Luke’s Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Donald R. Rhoton officiating.

The family expresses thanks to the staff of Compassionate Care Hospice for their comfort and support during Norma’s illness.  The family suggests memorial contributions to VFW Post 8545, 223 Washington St. P.O. Box 461,Smithfield, VA 23431 or to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kan. 66675

Service arrangements are in the care of Colonial Funeral Home, Carrollton, Smithfield, Isle of Wight and the surrounding communities.  Family and friends are encouraged to share condolences and remembrances at
