CARROLLTON — Rickie Fred Harris, 61, died Aug. 3, 2015.  A native of Hampton, he was predeceased by his father, Luther Fred Harris. Mr. Harris was a general foreman with Day Zimmermann at the Surry Nuclear Power Plant.  He was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Hampton and the Smithfield Union Masonic Lodge #18.  An avid fisherman and hunter, he was the hunt master at Barlow Hunt Club.

A loving husband, son, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife, Gloria C. Harris; mother, Hazel M. Harris of Carrollton; son, Shane Harris and wife Denise of Carrollton; two daughters, Tara Coats and husband Tommy of Carrollton and Thamera Harris of Greenville, N.C.; two sisters, Teena Harris of Newport News and Gail Voiers of Charlotte, N.C.; brother, Mike Harris of York, S.C.; five grandchildren, Lacy Mullen, Hunter Coats, Lily Harris, Hayden Coats and Haleigh Coats; and one great-grandchild, Kylie Leonard.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 5, 5 p.m. at the Harris farm in Carrollton.  Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel, Suffolk, is handling arrangements.  www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.
