Charlotte E. Bain

Charlotte E. Bain, 94, passed peacefully Aug. 9, 2015. Born March 15, 1921 in Surry County, she was one of ten children of the late Charles E. and Essie Scarborough Emory and was preceded in death by eight of her siblings.

Mrs. Bain is survived by her daughter, Virgie Wallace and son-in-law Randy Wallace; three grandsons, Joshua Wallace, Jonathan Wallace and Justin Wallace; her sister, Celia Parsons and many nieces and nephews.

Charlotte worked more than 30 years at the Norfolk Air Station. A well-read, independent-thinking person of faith, she will be remembered for her love of the Bible, preaching the word of God for more than 40 years, love of classic country music, gardening, photography, and genealogy and family reunions. Most important to her were “faith, family and friends”. 

The family will receive friends Wednesday, Aug. 12, 6 – 7:30 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, 14214 Carrollton Blvd., Carrollton.

A memorial service celebrating Charlotte’s life will be held at 1pm, Thursday, Aug. 13, 1 p.m., at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 15673 Scotts Factory Road in Smithfield.

 The family suggests memorial contributions to the Carrollton Volunteer Fire/Rescue Squad, at PO Box 77, Carrollton Blvd., Carrollton VA 23314-0077 or online at www.carrolltonfiredept.org.
