A friendly taste of home

On a recent family vacation to Luray, our family stopped to eat at Triple Crown BBQ about three miles from the Luray Caverns on Hwy. 211E. We were amazed with their service, the personal connection they made with their customers and, most of all, the savory food.

They are only open a few days a week from April to November, so we were lucky to go on a day they were there. They work out of a food truck and have four picnic tables for sitting. Honestly, if someone had not recommended them to us, we would have driven past, not knowing they were there.

This brings me to this letter. As the owner made his way to speak to each and every customer, he asked us where we were from. “The Smithfield area,” my husband said. “Smithfield?” the owner replied. He then went on to tell us all of his pork comes from Smithfield. He even showed us the boxes in his kitchen that were stamped with the Smithfield logo. He explained he is impressed with the quality of the meats.

If you venture out to Luray, be sure to check them out. It was nice to have a friendly taste of home 200 miles away.
