I want to pass along what we consider to be an improvement opportunity for the town of Smithfield.

Most summer Saturday mornings find us at the Smithfield Farmers’ market. And we usually partake of breakfast there after we have gathered our weekly supply of produce and other good stuff. But often we experience challenges in parking, particularly when we want to park on Main Street near our favorite restaurant.

What is frustrating is that parking spaces are not marked and often there are cars parked in the middle of what might be two spaces. This situation is quite common up and down Main Street. Our suggestion is for the city to spend a little money on paint and mark parking spaces, maximizing available space.
