I am a proactive, civically active person who believes in a participatory government. I am a former professional educator and mother who understands the complexities of 21st century learning and technology. I believe in long-term planning for our school system and making the most of our tax-dollars.

For the next 17 years my husband and I will have a child in our public schools. Our oldest child attends Carrollton Elementary and her sister and brother will follow her lead. I am invested long term in our schools and our community.

I am professional educator with a background in science and a history of complex problem solving. Through teaching AP and SOL required courses I understand the challenges facing our teachers and students with standardized testing and preparing for college. As a graduate of NY Maritime College I understand the importance of hands on learning to build the workforce of tomorrow. As a Lacrosse Coach, I understand the value of developing the leadership qualities and character of our students.

Isle of Wight County faces tough financial decisions and I have the time and the energy to make the best of the financial constraints without compromising the education of our children.

I am the best choice for the Newport School Board seat. I am invested in the community and the schools, because high quality schools build high quality communities. I can’t do it alone. I need your feedback, your ideas and support because a democracy thrives when citizens participate. I want to work with you because ultimately a vote for me is a vote for our children.
