Time for fire and brimstone

It appears the churches at large have decided, with blinders on, that the recent decision by the Supreme Court to allow same-sex marriages will simply go away.

Regardless of separation of church and state, this ruling carries with it substantial spiritual and moral consequences. As true Christians, we know that homosexuality is an abomination to God. It is literally unnatural (Romans 1).

Homosexuality is a choice — a choice to be a captive, a child of Satan. Our God is fair and wouldn’t make it a sign if a person couldn’t help it (Leviticus 17; Romans 1; 1 Corinthians 6:9). But whoever encourages others or condones it is as guilty as those who actually participate in this sexual sin.

God’s love is not unconditional; it is very conditional! In Psalm 5 He says He loves the righteous and hates those who do wickedness. Jesus said, “Loving his own.” And, in the Book of 1 John, it refers to children of Satan. But there’s forgiveness to anyone who truly repents.

The rights of those opposed to this ruling were supposed to be protected, but the mere fact that the Kentucky County Clerk Davis, who refuses to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples is in jail and her licensing revoked — why? She is standing on her faith alone as she understands what Jesus Christ meant when he said, “You are either with me or against me.”

It is long overdue that those whose vocation it is to preach/teach God’s words to congregations, witnessed to others that there are certain lifestyles that will not enter the King of God.

We are now worse than Sodom and Gomorrah. Christians are guilty of being too silent, tolerant and complacent for too long and helping the homosexuals to victory. It is time for a little fire and brimstone!
