Having served in the Isle of Wight court system for many years, I know how important it is for everyone to work closely together during the preparation and trial of criminal cases. The Sheriff, Commonwealth’s Attorney, and clerk are in daily communication with each other making certain everything is in place, according to law, for the trial of each case. This behind the scenes work requires much more time and effort than the actual trial.

That is why it is so important that our team of Sheriff Mark Marshall and Commonwealth’s Attorney Georgette Phillips, who have a long history of working together, remain in place.

Mark Marshall has over 30 years of law enforcement experience including the last four years as our Sheriff. Georgette Phillips has over 14 years experience trying criminal cases in Isle of Wight. We have a good team and we need to keep them playing together.
